For the second day in a row, the Hope College women's golf team shot a team total of 327 and defeated Albion College in the process.
The Flying Dutch went undefeated against the Britons in home-and-home season openers. On Friday, Hope won 327-366, at Clearbrook Golf Cub in nearby Saugatuck and on Saturday, the Flying Dutch won again, 327-342, at Tomac Woods Golf Course in Albion.
Sophomore Emlin Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City Central), pictured, was Hope's lowest scorer with a round of 79. Just two strokes back were senior Megan Jenkinson (Traverse City/Traverse City West) and sophomore Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan/Reeth-Puffer), each firing an 81.
Also with identical scores were senior Megan Radaz (Alma, Michigan/Alma) and junior Rita Cheney (Mason, Michigan/Mason) who each carded rounds of 85.
Playing as individuals, freshman Lauren Sass of Birmingham, Michigan (Birmingham Marian) shot an 82; junior Grace VanDellen (Oxford, Michigan/Lutheran Northwest) recorded an 83; senior Lexi Miller (Bremen, Michigan/Bremen) had an 85; and, sophomore Abby Deroucher of Farmington, Michigan (Farmington North), 90.
Hope returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10 for the Kyle Campbell Memorial Invitational at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan. Tee off on Friday is 2 p.m.
