ACHA Hockey Storms Past Miami (Ohio)

The Hope College hockey team never trailed en route to a 7-2 and 8-0 sweep of Miami University (Ohio) on Friday and Saturday in American Collegiate Hockey Association play.

The Flying Dutchmen raised their record to 7-1 overall.

On Friday, Hope snapped a 1-1 tie with a six-goal second period.

Senior forward Kevin Healy (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) recorded a team-high two goals.

Senior left wing Colin Stecco (East Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) collected three assists.

On Saturday, freshman forward Ryan Pomranky (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow) scored both of his goals to help stake the Flying Dutchmen to a 3-0 first period lead.

Senior left wing Lucas Barber (Lake Orion, Michigan / Lake Orion) chipped in two goals.

Freshman defenseman Ashton Ieuter (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow) totaled three assists.

Sophomore goalie Maclane Schick (Kohler, Wisconsin / Kohler) made 19 saves to earn the shutout.

Hope will face Oakland University next. On Friday, Nov. 4, the Flying Dutchmen will skate at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan, for a 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 5, Hope will host Oakland at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West.
