Divers Compete at Carnegie Mellon Invitational

Seven Hope College divers competed at the Carnegie-Mellon University Invitational over the weekend in Pittsburgh.

On the women's side, sophomore Abby Koops (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern HS) led the Flying Dutch with a fifth-place, 1-meter dive total of 388.35 points and a seventh-place, 3-meter score of 407.95 points.

Junior Cameron Hamliton (Libertyville, Illinois / Libertyville) finished eighth on the meter board with a score of 364.05 points and ninth on the 3-meter board with a total of 389.35 points.

Junior Sophia Farbarhzevich (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern) placed 12th on the 3-meter with a score of 381.25 points and 14th on the 1-meter with a total of 342.05 points.

Freshman Lydia Hawkins (Spring Arbor, Michigan / Western) took 14th on the 3-meter with a score of 349.10 points and 17th on the 1-meter with a total of 331.65 points.

Senior Allie Graver (Grosse Ile, Michigan / Grosse Ile) came in 15th on 3-meter with a score of 344.50 points and 20th on the 1-meter with a total of 309.20.

On the men's side, freshman Justin Romero (Detroit, Michigan / Woodhaven) recorded a 16th-place, 1-meter score of 293.90 points and a 20th-place, 3-meter total of 248.35 points.

Junior Joey Gillengerten (East Lansing, Michigan / Haslett) was 20th on the 1 meter with a score of 225.35 points and 21st on the 3-meter with a total of 241.80.
