Swim/Dive and Women's Basketball Teams Remain Nationally Ranked

Three Hope College teams are ranked in this week's national polls: women's basketball, men's swimming and diving, and women's swimming diving.

On the court, the Flying Dutch remained No. 1 in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and D3hoops.com polls.

Hope, led by head coach Brian Morehouse, received nine of 10 possible first-place votes in the WBCA poll and 20 of 25 first-place votes in the D3hoops poll.

In the pool, the Flying Dutch held their spot of 12th in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association NCAA Division III women's national dual-meet rankings. Hope also is fourth in the Central Region women's rankings.

The Flying Dutchmen are 17th in the CSCAA Division III men's national rankings and sixth in the Central Regional rankings.

The CSCAA committee, composed of Division III coaches and select media, ranks the top 25 teams in the nation based on dual meet strength. The committee uses head-to-head results as the top consideration. Common opponents and simulations are also considered when establishing monthly rankings. This poll does not predict top finishers in a championship meet format.

Both swimming and diving teams, led by head coach Jake Taber, have been nationally ranked all season.

Hope's next swimming and diving meet is Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Michigan-Illinois Quad hosted by Kalamazoo College.

The Flying Dutch's next basketball game is on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. vs. nationally-ranked Trine University at DeVos Fieldhouse.
