Junior Matt Henkel earned a hard-fought point for the Hope College men's tennis team on Friday against his opponent from NCAA DIvision II Davenport University.

At No. 6 singles, Henkel (Traverse City, Michigan / T.C. Central) outlasted Jose Bienes in three sets for a 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 victory at DeWitt Tennis Center.

Davenport won the match, 8-1.

The Flying Dutchmen (0-2 overall) return to action on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m. with a home match against Spring Arbor University.
