Hope College's Cole Scheffler is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The FOGO (face off get off) player from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) is receiving the honor for the first time this season, and second time in his career. 

Scheffler picked up nine ground balls in their 17-13 win over Elmhurst on Saturday to open up the season.

Scheffler, a senior spanish major and communication minor, also had a single shot on goal.
