Cameron Coates Claims Two Points for Men's Tennis During Pair of Losses

Junior Cameron Coates, pictured, earned two points for the Hope College men's tennis team during a pair of losses on Monday at the United States Tennis Association National Training Center in Orlando, Florida.

The Flying Dutchmen lost to Oglethorpe University (Ga.), 5-2, and Grinnell College (Iowa), 8-1. 

Against Oglethorpe, the Flying Dutchmen earned both of their points in double play.

At No. 1 doubles, junior Jacob Burkett (Clarkston, Michigan / Clarkston HS) and Matt Henkel (Traverse City, Michigan / T.C. Central) claimed an 8-5 victory.

At No. 3 doubles, Coates and sophomore John Voss (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) won, 8-6.

Against Grinnell, Coates and senior Tyler Koran (Salinas, California / Salinas) won an 8-7 thriller at No. 3 doubles.

Hope (1-8) concludes its matches in Florida on Tuesday, March 22, with matches against Salisbury University  (Md.) at 8 a.m. and the University Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 6:30 p.m.
