The HOPEYs, the annual celebration of the past year in Hope College Athletics, is set for Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The event is open to the public; admission is free. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
Meet this year's nominees:
TEAM AWARDS
Outstanding Team. Presented to the team deemed to be the most outstanding in a given year, finishing in the top 10 of the NCAA Division III within their respective sport.
Comeback Performance of the Year. Presented to the team that had the most memorable come-from-behind win.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Male Be Strong, Be True. Athlete of the Year. Presented to a junior or senior who demonstrates the true essence of being a student-athlete and embodies the Division III motto of Discover, Develop, Dedicate. This student-athlete is in high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.5), plays a significant role on the team, and is involved in the Hope and Holland community.

Male Anchor Award. Presented to an athlete who anchors the team, inspiring their teammates to train and perform at their best.
Female Anchor Award. Presented to an athlete who anchors the team, inspiring their teammates to train and perform at their best.
Male Comeback Player of the Year. Presented to an athlete who has re-emerged on the field of play after overcoming adversity in the previous season due to an injury, illness, or personal hardship.
Female Comeback Player of the Year. Presented to an athlete who has re-emerged on the field of play after overcoming adversity in the previous season due to an injury, illness, or personal hardship.
Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year. Presented to an athlete (sophomore and above) that has made the best or most significant breakthrough in their sport during the year.
Female Breakthrough Athlete of the Year. Presented to an athlete (sophomore and above) that has made the best or most significant breakthrough in their sport during the year.
Male Newcomer of the Year. Presented to the freshman or transfer that made a significant impact within their sport during their first year on the team.
