The Hope College women's golf team concluded the two-day Olivet Tournament with a fourth-place finish at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan.Â
Bethel University (Ind.) won the tournament with a 624, while Ohio Northern was second with a 654 total score.Â
Tied for fourth after round-one on Friday, the Flying Dutch's score of 336 on Saturday put them at a total of 672, coming in nine strokes behind third-place Adrian College.Â
Senior Grace VanDellen (Oxford, Michigan / Lutheran Northwest) led Hope by carding an 80 in the second round, earning her a total of 159 for two-rounds, good for a tie for sixth place individually.Â
Junior Emlin Munch and senior Rita Cheney (Mason, Michigan / Mason) were Hope's next top scorers, firing an 84 and 83, respectively.Â
A native of Traverse City, Michigan ( Central HS), Munch would end the weekend in a tie for tenth place, while Cheney finished in a tie for 21st place.Â
Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths Puffer) and Lauren Sass (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Marian) Â finished out the Hope scoring on Saturday, with Fansler shooting an 89 and Sass with a 93.Â
The Flying Dutch hit the links again on Wednesday, September 14 in the first MIAA Jamboree of the fall season as Saint Mary's plays host at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.
