The Hope College women's golf team left Granger, Indiana with third place at the season's first MIAA Jamboree on Wednesday.Â
Senior Rita Cheney (Mason, Michigan / Mason HS)Â led the way for the Flying Dutch, shooting a 79 at the Knollwood Country Club. Cheney's eighth-place finish overall assisted the orange and blue into third place, three strokes behind second-place Adrian College and 10 behind first-place Saint Mary's College.
Sophomore Lauren Sass (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Marian)Â shot an 80 to complete the first MIAA Jamboree for Hope College tied for ninth.Â
Both Emlin Munch (Traverse City, Michigan / Central) and Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Muskegon Reeths-Puffer) carded 82s, while senior Grace VanDellen (Oxford, Michigan / Lutheran Northwest) shot an 82 on the course.Â
The Flying Dutch face off with Calvin University on Saturday, September 17 in a battle for the D.A.P cup at Clearbrook Golf Club at 2 p.m.
