Women's Golfer Abby Fansler Moves Up in MIAA Season Medalist Chase

Senior Abby Fansler shot a 6-over-par 78 at Milham Park Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to lead the Hope College women's golf team during the MIAA Jamboree on Saturday.

Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer) tied for fourth place in the individual standings and moved up into a third-place tie in the season standings.

The Flying Dutch finished fifth out of nine teams after carding a 342.

Saint Mary's College took a 1-stroke lead over Adrian College after three rounds by posting a tournament-low 311 on Saturday and finishing nine strokes ahead of the second-place Bulldogs. Hope is in fifth place with 54 holes remaining.

At Milham Park, sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) chipped in at 87 for the Flying Dutchmen.

Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) shot an 88.

Freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) carded an 89.

Junior Sarah Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte) finished with a 91.

Sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) had a 93.

Hope's final round of the fall is Thursday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Trine University at Zollner Golf Course.
