The third-ranked Hope College volleyball team served up a win and showed strength in numbers on the road at Saint Mary's College on Tuesday evening.
The 25-11, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18 win kept the Flying Dutch unbeaten in MIAA play at 4-0, and upped their wins to 16 in 17 tries this season.
Hope used 19 different players in the 3-1 victory, and spread the wealth with 11 different players picking up kills as junior Addie VanderWeide (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) had a team-high eight kills on the night.
Junior Liz VanderSlice (Wyoming, Michigan / Grandville) chipped in six kills and five blocks against Saint Mary's.
Sophomore Ella Contant (Elmhurst, Illinois / York Community) had six kills with a match-high seven blocks.
Sophomore Lauren Lee (Plymouth, Michigan / Skyline) totaled 29 assists.
Junior Sammie Seib (Elkhorn, Wisconsin / Catholic Central) tallied a team-high 15 digs for Hope.
The Flying Dutch served up 11 service aces, nearly matching their season-high total of 13.
Hope seized the lead early after Saint Mary's forced a fourth set, and did not give it up for the remainder of the match.
The Flying Dutch return to the court on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a league matchup with Trine University at 6:30 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.
