Sophomore Brooke Myers Delivers Fastest Run for Women's Cross Country at Muskegon Community College Invite

Sophomore Brooke Myers clocked a 5K run of 19 minutes, 50.66 seconds to top the Hope College women's cross country team at the Muskegon College Invitational on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch ran mostly underclassmen at the nine-team event. Hope finished sixth with 148 points.

Hope's next meet will be the MIAA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28, at noon at Three Fires Golf Club in Holland.

Myers (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern HS) finished 26th out of 111 runners.

Four freshmen then accounted for the rest of the Flying Dutch's point total.

Becca Scott (Naperville, Illinois / Naperville Central HS) placed 38th at 20:29.70.

Katie Fischer (Adrian, Michigan / Adrian) took 43rd at 20:38.73.

Lucy James (La Grange Park, Illinois / Willows Academy) recorded a 45th-place run of 20:43.11.

Brigit Foley (New Hudson, Michigan / St. Catherine of Siena) posted a 55th-place time of 21:04.06.
