Football Places Five on All-MIAA Team on Offense

Five from the Hope College football team have received All-MIAA recognition on offense.

Three are first-team selections by the league's coaches: Dylan Clem at offensive line, Grant Holtzer at wide receiver and Chance Strickland at running back.

Two more made the second team: Cole Harger on the offensive line and Luke Marsh on the offensive line.

Clem (Stevensville, Michigan / Lakeshore HS) helped Hope lead the MIAA in rushing offense at 221.8 yards per league game with his blocking at right guard. The senior also aided the Flying Dutchmen's push to finish second in points per MIAA game at 34.5 and total offense at 477.0.

This is Clem's third All-MIAA award. The civil engineering major was All-MIAA Second Team in 2022 and 2021.

Holtzer (Okemos, Michigan / Okemos) delivered as a deep threat for the Flying Dutchmen, ranking third in the MIAA at 74.8 yards per league game. The senior business major also caught four touchdowns against MIAA opponents.

This is Holtzer's first All-MIAA distinction.

Strickland (Mason, Michigan / Mason) excelled in his first season as a running back, topping the MIAA with nine rushing touchdowns in league games and ranking second at 74.5 rushing yards.

The junior business and economics major earned his first All-MIAA recognition.

Harger (Muskegon, Michigan / Oakridge) earned his first All-MIAA honor. The senior civil engineering major anchored Hope's offensive line at center.

Marsh (Montague, Michigan / Montague) claimed his All-MIAA recognition as a left tackle. The senior special education major was a second-team honoree in 2022 and a first-team selection in 2021.

On defense, the Flying Dutchmen had four All-MIAA honorees, including first-teamers Nick Flegler at safety and Cole Luhmann at linebacker and second-teamers Oatis Ackermann at defensive line and Darion Nundley at defensive back.
