Evan Thomas Chosen to Play In NABC Reese's Senior All-Star Game

The game on Saturday, March 18, will be played in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Hope College's Evan Thomas has been selected to play in the 2023 National Association of Basketball Coaches Reese's NCAA Division III College All-Star Game this weekend.

The event, featuring 20 of the top seniors in the country, is held in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tipoff is noon at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Rosters include representation from each Division III region. Former Amherst College (Mass.) head coach David Hixon and former Calvin University head coach Kevin Vande Streek will serve as coaches for the two Division III All-Star teams.

Thomas (Okemos, Michigan / Okemos HS) wrapped up his Hope career this season as the 15th-ranked all-time leading scorer in the Flying Dutchmen's history.

The 6-4 Thomas totaled 1,363 career points in 85 games for an average of 16.0 points per game.

Thomas battled through two injuries to help the Flying Dutchmen reach the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament and win the MIAA Tournament. Thomas led Hope in scoring at 15.7 points per game over 20 games.

A biology major, Thomas earned All-MIAA First Team honors for the second consecutive season as a senior. He also was named the MIAA"s Most Valuable Player as a junior.

Thomas will begin his studies at the University of Michigan Medical School this fall.
