Indoor Track and Field Places 11 on USTFCCCA All-Region Teams

Eleven student-athletes from the Hope College women's and men's indoor track and field teams have claimed NCAA Division III all-region honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.

There were seven honorees from the MIAA champion Flying Dutch and four from the Flying Dutchmen in the Great Lakes Region.

Senior Ana Tucker (Midland, Michigan / H.H Dow) ran away with all-region distinction in four events: the 1-mile, 5,000 meters, 3,000 meters and distance medley relay.

The Flying Dutch's other distance medley relay honorees are: senior Ellie Jankowski (Granger, Indiana / Penn), senior Grace Behrens (Mishawaka, Indiana / Trinity School at Greenlawn) and freshman Madison Stern (Saline, Michigan / Saline).

Freshman Sara Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / T.C. West) is an all-region honoree in three events: 60 meters, 200 meters and 4x400 relay.

Hope's 4x400 relay honorees are senior Julie Timperman (Lafayette, Indiana / Faith Christian), junior Erin Moran (Arlington Heights, Illinois / John Hersey), and Behrens.

On the men's side, junior Eli Meder (Williamston, Michigan / Lansing Catholic) and sophomore Lucas Guidone (Chicago, Illinois / Taft) both received all-region distinction in the 800 meters.

Guidone and Meder joined senior Nathan Woolum (Mattawan, Michigan / Mattawan) and sophomore Connor Vachon (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) in earning all-region honors in the distance medley relay.
