Hope College Earns 39th MIAA Commissioner's Cup, Adds to League Record

Hope College has earned the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup all-sports trophy for a league-best 39th time.

The MIAA Commissioner's Cup is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in 18 of the league's sports for men and women. 

Hope totaled 146.5 points during the 2022-23 school year and finished 7.5 points ahead of the nearest school.

Hope has claimed 24 more MIAA Commissioner's Cups than any other school.

Hope swept the all-sport titles with 76.5 points in women's sports and 70 points in men's sports.

League titles in seven sports and runner-up finishes in eight more sports fueled Hope's charge.

Hope won outright MIAA titles in men's golf, women's cross country, women's indoor track and field, women's swimming and diving, women's lacrosse and women's indoor track and field. The Flying Dutch were MIAA co-champions in women's basketball.

Hope finished runner-up in men's cross country, men's soccer, women's volleyball, men's swimming and diving, men's lacrosse, men's tennis, men's outdoor track and field, and women's tennis.

Calvin University came in second place overall with 139.5 points. Trine University finished third with 126 points and was followed by Albion College (110), Adrian College (110.5), Kalamazoo College (88.5), Alma College (87), Olivet College (67), and Saint Mary's College (34).
