Women's Golf Shoots Lowest Round of the Season, Ties for Eighth at Olivet Tournament

The Hope College women's golf team rebounded in a big way on Saturday and carded its best team round of the season.

The Flying Dutch fired a 322 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall during the final round of the University of Olivet's Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament one day after shooting a season-high 354.

With Saturday's fourth-lowest total, Hope moved up two spots in the team standings and finished eighth out of 16 teams with a 36-hole score of 676. Bethel University (Ind.) won at 636 (323-313).

Senior Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer) topped the Flying Dutch by recording a team-best, 5-over-par 77 on Saturday for a 20th-place total of 165.

Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Michigan / Grove City) tied for 23rd at 167 (86-81).

Freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan Northville) placed in a tie for 25th place at 168 (89-79).

Freshman Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Prairie) finished in a 36th-place tie at 172 (91-81).

Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) also lowered her score, tying for 38th at 173 (80-83).

Sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) tied for 71st at 179 (90-89).

Hope returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Albion College at Cascades Golf Course in Jackson.

It is the first of four league rounds that account for 72 of 108 holes that determine the MIAA champion this spring.
