Women's Golf Rallies to Top Albion

The Hope College women's golf team found Cascades Golf Course in Jackson to its liking.

The Flying Dutch matched their season-low with a 335 on Saturday that propelled them to a two-stroke victory against Albion College in their 36-hole event this weekend.

Hope posted a two-day total of 683, while Albion finished at 685. The Flying Dutch trailed by two strokes after Friday's round of 348 at Clearbrook Golf Course in Saugatuck.

Senior Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer HS) earned medalist honors by shooting a 5-over-par 77 on Saturday and finishing at 156.

Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) chipped an 83 for Hope.

Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) carded an 87.

Sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) fired an 88.

Freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) shot a 91.

Hope's B team was led by freshman Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Prairie), who recorded a 79.

Junior Sarah Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte) shot an 86.

Sophomore Hannah Finch (Dexter, Michigan Dexter) chipped in a 91.

Freshman Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) carded a 96.

The Flying Dutch's next event is Friday-Saturday, Sept. 8-9, at the University of Olivet's Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament.
