The Hope College women's tennis team returns to the court this season as reigning champions again.
This time, though, the Flying Dutch are aiming to sweep both MIAA titles.
In 2024, the Flying Dutch want to extend their record MIAA tournament championship run to 12.
Last season, Kalamazoo College stopped Hope's record seven-year reign as MIAA regular-season champions by defeating the Flying Dutch during the regular season. Hope finished with a 6-1 league record.
Hope avenged the loss to Kalamazoo in the MIAA Tournament title match and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the 11th consecutive time.
The Flying Dutch finished with a 13-7 overall record after losing to North Central College (Ill.) in the first round. Hope was ranked fifth in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional poll.
Hope opens the spring season with 10 non-conference matches, beginning at The College of College of Wooster (Ohio) on Friday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m.
The home opener for the Flying Dutch at DeWitt Tennis Center is on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. against Oberlin College (Ohio).
In March, Hope travels to the United States Tennis Association Training Center in Orlando, Florida, to finish out the non-conference matches during spring break.
The Flying Dutch start MIAA play on the road at Alma College on Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m. After a three-match road stanza, the Orange and Blue welcome Adrian College to the VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts on Wednesday, April 3, at 4 p.m.
Hope takes on the reigning MIAA regular season champions, Kalamazoo College, at home on Saturday, April 20, at 3 p.m.
The Flying Dutch return seven to their roster of 14. The roster consists of one senior, three juniors, five sophomores and five freshmen.
Hope returns two first-team All-MIAA selections in sophomore Amanda Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township HS) and junior Sullivan Moran (Birmingham, Michigan / Wylie E. Groves).
Senior Annika Weeber (Rockford, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) returns to the court as an All-MIAA second-team selection.
