Women's Cross Country Places 11th at the 24-Team Louisville Classic Blue Division

The regionally-ranked Hope College women's cross country team took 11th in the 24-team Blue Division at the Louisville Classic.

The Flying Dutch scored 313 points while competing against teams from NCAA Divisions I and II and the NAIA. The University of Charlotte won with 52 points.

Senior Maddy Struck (Hainesville, Illinois / Grayslake Central HS) clocked a 24th-place, 5K run of 18 minutes, 54.9 seconds in the 229-runner field.

Freshman Maddie VandeBunte (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) recorded a 70th-place time of 19:45.8.

Junior Lexi Deighan (Birmingham, Michigan / Seaholm) posted a 73rd-place effort of 19:47.3.

Sophomore Paige King (Glenbard, Illinois / Glenbard West) placed 79th at 19:49.2.

Sophomore Annika Sytsma (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central) closed Hope's scoring with a 91st-place time of 19:59.2.

Hope's next race is Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11:15 a.m. at the Muskegon Community College Invitational at the University Golf Course in Muskegon.
