The Hope College women's cross country team raced to a fourth-place finish at the MIAA championships on Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Â
The hosts, 19th-ranked Calvin University, finished in first place with 29 points. No. 29 ranked Trine University tallied 44 points for second place. Hope totaled 92 points.Â
Hope had 10 runners among the top 30 finishers.Â
Senior Maddy Struck (Hainesville, Illinois / Grayslake Central HS) led Hope with a 13th place, 6K effort of 22 minutes, 39.7 seconds. Struck earned a spot on the All-MIAAÂ Second Team.Â
Junior Molly Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South) joined Struck on the All-MIAA Second Team after a 16th-place time of 23:12.2.Â
Sophomore Annika Sytsma (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) placed 20th with a time of 23:24.5.Â
Freshman Maddie VandeBunte (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) crossed the line at 23:29.4 for 21st place.Â
Sophomore Amanda Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd) followed VandeBunte in for a 22nd-place finish and time of 23:29.5.Â
Senior Audrey White (Norton Shores, Michigan / Mona Shores) clocked 23:29.6 to closely grab 23rd place.Â
Junior Lexi Deighan (Birmingham, Michigan / Seaholm) rounded out the Hope scoring with a 24th-place finish and time of 23:31.4.Â

- Junior Madison Stern (Saline, Michigan / Saline): 26th place, 23:35.9;
- Sophomore Becca Scott (Naperville, Illinois / Naperville Central): 28th place, 23:40.2;
- Senior Kennedy Kuhlmann (Grand Blanc, Michigan / Grand Blanc): 30th place, 23:42.
The Flying Dutch race again at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in Shelbyville, Indiana.
