Hope College's Kevin Cole '88 has been voted as the MIAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the 2024 season.

The honor is based on achievements during both regular- and postseason competition and voted on by MIAA coaches.

Cole was selected as the 2024 Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading the Flying Dutch to a second consecutive
MIAA championship.

Under the leadership of Cole, Hope garnered six All-MIAA First Team selections at last month's MIAA Championships, including both the distance medley relay and the record-breaking 4x400-meter relay.

The Flying Dutch had four individual champions: senior Rebecca Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd HS) in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs, and sophomore Sara Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West) with MIAA-record-setting performances in the 200 and 400-meter runs.

This is Cole's 19th year as head track and field head coach.

"I am honored to be able to coach such an incredible group of young women who love to work hard and love to win," Cole said. "We are looking forward to the upcoming national meet and then we hope to keep the momentum going during the outdoor season. Thank you to all the other MIAA coaches for making our league a fun place to compete."
