Junior Sarah Owens Leads Women's Golf at Adrian Spring Invite

Junior Sarah Owens carded an 87 at Tecumseh Golf Club to lead the Hope College women's golf team at the Adrian College Spring Invite on Saturday.

Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte HS) tied for 17th place out of 73 golfers at 15-over-par.

Two Flying Dutch teams competed in the 13-team tournament: placing sixth with a team score of 359 and 10th with a team of 379. Host Adrian won with a score of 321.

Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) tied for 19th with an 88.

Freshman Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) and freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) each chipped in a 90.

Junior Jordan Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) and sophomore Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) each carded 91s.

Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) finished with a 94.

The Flying Dutchmen also received a 100 from sophomore Sammi Campbell (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) and a 101 from freshman Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian).

Hope's next round is Wednesday, April 17, at 1 p.m. vs. Trine University at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck.
