Women's Golf Runner-Up at MIAA Jamboree, Posts Highest Finish This Season

The Hope College women's golf team fired its lowest MIAA jamboree round and posted its highest finish in league play on Thursday in Angola, Indiana.

The Flying Dutch carded a runner-up total of 332 at the nine-team event hosted by Trine University.

Saint Mary's College won the tournament by carding a 320 that gave the Belles a one-stroke lead in the overall standings over second-place Adrian College.

Freshman Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville HS) shot a 7-over 77 at Zollner Golf Course to lead Hope.

Zuidema finished one stroke off the individual lead behind three golfers. The field featured 53 golfers.

Senior Abby Fansler (Muskegon, Michigan / Reeths-Puffer) tied for eighth after posting an 81.

Freshman Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) and freshman Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) shot 86s for the Flying Dutch.

Sophomore Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) chipped in an 89.

Hope's next round is Saturday, April 20, at 1:30 p.m. in a match-play event against Calvin University at Clearbrook Golf Course in Saugatuck.
