Hope College Athletics will honor retiring Hope College baseball
Stu Fritz on Friday, April 26, at Boeve Baseball Stadium.
The ceremony will take place following the completion of Game 1 of a noon doubleheader vs. Adrian College.
There will be special giveaways during the doubleheader, including commemorative posters recognizing Fritz's career.
Fritz announced in January he would retire as a coach following the 2024 baseball season and as a professor of kinesiology following the 2023-24 school year.
Since 1994, Fritz has guided the Flying Dutchmen in 671 victories and 10 MIAA titles heading into the Adrian series. This season, Fritz has led Hope to first place in the MIAA standings with a 12-3 league record and 19-13 overall record.
Fritz is the winningest and longest-tenured coach in Hope College baseball history.Â
During his tenure, Fritz also served as assistant football coach for 17 seasons and as an associate professor of kinesiology with a specialty in assessing Hope's future physical educators.
Fritz also was president of the American Baseball Coaches Association for one year.
