Eight Earn All-Region Accolades in Women's Track and Field

Eight from the MIAA-champion Hope College women's track and field team earned all-region honors for the 2024 outdoor season from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Sophomore sprinter Sara Schermerhorn leads the Flying Dutch pack with All-Great Lakes Region accolades in four events.

Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / Traverse City West HS) is joined by seniors Erin Moran, Olivia Quillan and Rebecca Markham; juniors Greta Robrahn, Maddy Struck and Jasmine Zimmerman; and sophomore Catherine Leahy.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors, as do the members of top-3 ranked relay teams.

Schermerhorn earned all-region honors in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and 4x400 relay.

Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd) claimed all-region recognition in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters.

Quillan (Grandville, Michigan / Calvin Christian) made all-region in the 1,500 meters.

Robrahn (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland East) earned all-region accolades in the shot put.

Struck (Hainesville, Illinois / Grayslake Central) claimed all-region honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Leahy (Elk Rapids, Michigan / Elk Rapids), Moran (Arlington Heights, Illinois / John Hersey) and Zimmerman (Byron Center, Michigan / Home School) joined Schermerhorn with all-region recognition in the 4x400 relay.
