Hope College Ranks 20th in Final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

It is Hope's third-highest finish all time in the NCAA Division III all-sports standings.

Hope College stands with the top athletic programs in NCAA Division III with a 20th-place finish in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for the 2023-24 school year.

Hope totaled 622.50 points to record its third-highest Directors' Cup finish all time and the best in the MIAA this year.

Hope finished a program-best 12th during the 2005-06 school year and 18th in 2016-17.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.

Overall, 18 sports are counted in the final Division III standings, four of which must be men's and women's soccer and men's and women's basketball. The next-highest sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.

This spring, Hope scored in five sports: men's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, women's tennis, and women's outdoor track and field.

During the winter, Hope collected points in men's basketball, women's basketball, men's and women's swimming and diving, and women's indoor track and field.

Last fall, Hope scored in three sports: men's and women's cross country, and women's volleyball. The Flying Dutch were the national runner-up in volleyball.

Hope College has finished in the top 70 among NCAA Division III programs each year since the program was started for Division III during the 1995-96 school year.
