Five Chosen for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Teams

Five Hope College student-athletes have been named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators: Kerrigan Brown, Sydney LaPrairie and Alyssa Segura from MIAA-champion women's lacrosse, and Abby Fansler and Sara Muir from women's golf.

The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The program separately recognizes men's and women's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

A select number of honorees advanced to the Academic All-America® ballot. NCAA and NAIA Men's At-Large Academic All-America® first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced later this summer.

Brown (DeWitt, Michigan / DeWitt HS) is an exercise science major and a two-time Academic All-District® recipient.

The junior attacker recorded career-highs with 23 assists and 13 caused turnovers this season to go along with scoring 22 goals.

LaPrairie (Rochester, Michigan / Stoney Creek) is majoring in exercise science.

The junior midfielder collected career-highs this season in goals (23), assists (9), points (32) and ground balls (32).

Segura (Naples, Florida / Barron Collier) is an English and religion - Christian history theology double major.

The sophomore attacker totaled career-highs in goals (11), assists (4) and points (15) this season.

Fansler graduated in May after majoring in mechanical engineering.

During her senior season, Fansler earned All-MIAA First Team honors after firing a career-low, 79.33-stroke average over 108 holes of MIAA play.

Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) is a public accounting and business double major.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions III Academic All-America® program.
