Freshman Maura Lichiello delivered the top effort for the Hope College women's cross country team at the Grand Rapids Community College/Calvin University Invitational on Friday.

Lichiello (Howell, Michigan / Howell HS) clocked a 22nd-place, 5K time of 20 minutes, 15.6 seconds in the 13-team 108-runner field at Gainey Athletic Complex.

Sophomore Katie Fischer (Adrian, Michigan / Adrian) earned a 27th-place finish with a time of 20:25.6. 

Freshman Lily Sackrider (St. Johns, Michigan / St. Johns) posted a 20:37.2 run for 36th place.
 
Junior Claire Vellinga (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) took 38th at 20:48.3. 

Freshman Rylie Kraus (Granville, Ohio / Granville) crossed the finish line in 44th at 20:55 to round out Hope's scoring.

The Flying Dutch placed sixth out of nine scoring teams with 144 points.

Senior Isabella Brady (Zionsville, Indiana / Zionsville) went 20:59.3 for 46th place.

Junior Savina Centofanti (Vicksburg, Michigan / Vicksburg) finished in 21:30.4 for 58th place.

Hope runs again on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 9 a.m. at Indiana State University in Terre Haute in the John Nichols Invitational. In a schedule change, Hope will not compete at Western Michigan University on Friday, Sept. 20.
