Men's Soccer and Women's Tennis Standouts Chosen as MIAA Athletes of the Week

Hope College's Jackson Mindling and Amanda Lopykinski have been selected as MIAA Athletes of the Week.

Mindling (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian HS) is the MIAA Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

Lopykinski (Lemont, Illinois / Lemont Township) is the MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the fifth time in her career.

Mindling assisted the Flying Dutchmen to a 3-0 record last week by totaling four goals and one assist during 167 minutes of action. 

The freshman notched the game-winning goal during a 4-0 victory at Eureka College (Illinois) on Saturday, scored the tying goal during a 2-1 victory at Concordia University of Chicago on Friday, and collected two goals and one assist during a 5-0 victory at home vs. Benedictine University (Illinois).

Lopykinski placed third in the Women's A Singles Draw of the Hope College Tennis Fall Invitational over the weekend with a 3-1 overall singles record. 

The junior's wins were against Aquinas's Carlota Arzabe (8-4), Adrian's Hye Jin Elliot (8-3) and a first-round default. 

Lopykinski also won the Women's A Doubles Draw Championship with partner Sullivan Moran. The duo's unblemished 4-0 overall doubles record included wins against Trine (6-0), Calvin (6-2), Kalamazoo (6-1), and Ohio Northern (6-2).
