Two Selected as MIAA Athletes of the Week

Two Hope College seniors have been chosen as MIAA Athletes of the Week: Tyler Amos in football and Cole Pauly in men's soccer.

Amos (Portage, Michigan / Portage Northern HS) is the MIAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Pauly (Mundelein, Illinois / Mundelein) is the MIAA Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season and the second time in his career.

Amos scored the go-ahead touchdown during a 49-7 victory at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Indiana) on Saturday by returning a first-quarter kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown.

The exercise science major and running back also rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on nine carries for the Flying Dutchmen, who completed non-league play with a 3-0 record.

Pauly, a defender, helped the 18th-ranked Flying Dutchmen defeat 5-1 Wabash College (Indiana) by a 4-1 margin on Saturday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

The business major also chipped in an assist against Wabash as Hope (7-1) won for the fourth consecutive time.
