Volleyball's Olivia Wyma, Men's Cross Country's Carston Cole Earn MIAA Athlete of the Week Honors

Hope College's Olivia Wyma and Carston Cole have claimed MIAA Athlete of the Week honors.

Wyma (Hartland, Wisconsin / Arrowhead) is the MIAA Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

Cole (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) is the MIAA Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

Wyma averaged 11.5 kills and 2.5 blocks during the 12th-ranked Flying Dutch's three-set victory against Kalamazoo College at home and four-set victory at MIAA co-leader Albion College.

The sophomore middle blocker totaled 13 kills and four blocks against Albion and 10 kills and one block against Kalamazoo.

Wyma hit .377 for the week while helping Hope seize sole possession of the MIAA lead.

Cole recorded the MIAA's fastest performance during the Augustana College (Illinois) Interregional Invitational on Saturday.

The senior exercise science major clocked a season-best 8K time of 25 minutes, 11.7 seconds at Saukie Golf Course to lead the 17th-ranked Flying Dutchmen to a ninth-place finish. The meet featured 13 nationally ranked teams.
