The Hope College women's cross country team completed at the Calvin University Knight Invitational on Saturday, placing third out of eight teams with a score of 92 points.Â
Competing against a tough field that included host Calvin University and NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University, the number one finishing team, Hope held its own with eight runners finishing in the top 30. Many of the Flying Dutch's top runners did not race after competing on Friday in Wisconsin.
Sophomore Erin Stuk (Pinckney, Michigan / Ann Arbor Gabriel HS) led the team with a 16th-place finish in 24:08.0, followed closely by junior Shelby Bolser (St. Louis, Missouri / Kirkwood) in 20th at 24:36.7 and freshman Savannah Jackson (Saint Charles, Illinois / Saint Charles East) in 21st at 24:38.0.Â
Sophomore Rylie Kraus (Granville, Ohio / Granville) in 22nd at 24:45.2, sophomore Maura Lichiello (Howell, Michigan / Howell) in 23rd at 24:46.6, sophomore Tessa Rindfliesch (Holland, Michigan / Zeeland West) in 25th at 24:56.7, and freshman Chloe Caufield (Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan / Grosse Pointe South) in 28th at 25:08.4 rounded out a tightly packed top seven that helped secure Hope's podium finish.
