No. 11 ACHA Men's Hockey Scores 19 Goals, Sweeps Oakland

The 11th-ranked Hope College men's hockey team swept Oakland University over the weekend, winning 8-1 on the road Friday and 11-0 at home Saturday.

The Flying Dutchmen improved to 12-2 overall.

On Friday at Suburban Ice Rochester, sophomore center Ryan Jaros (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central / Battle Creek Kernels USPHL Premier) and freshman right wing Gerdas Paulauskas (Lisle, Illinois / Acellus Academy / Toledo Cherokee USPHL Premier) each scored twice to lead Hope.

Sophomore left wing Cade Pratt (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center / Wisconsin Windigo NAHL) added a goal and four assists, while freshman center Logan Nickolaus (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center / Mercer Chiefs NCDC) contributed a goal and two assists.

Senior goaltender Ander Ciesielski (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Mattawan) made 12 saves.

On Saturday at Griff's IceHouse West, the Flying Dutchmen featured 10 different goal scorers, including Pratt, who finished with two goals and one assist.

Nickolaus had one goal and three assists, and freshman defenseman Trevor Davis (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) recorded one goal and two assists.

Goaltender Lennart Critzmann (Werder, Brandenburg, Germany) stopped 20 shots for the shutout.

Hope's next ACHA Division I series is this weekend against Grand Valley State University. The Flying Dutchmen host Friday's 7:30 p.m. game at Griff's IceHouse West before traveling for Saturday's 7:30 p.m. matchup at Griff's Georgetown Ice Arena.
