The 19th-ranked Hope College men's hockey team split its first ACHA Division I series against Calvin University over the weekend, with each team winning on home ice.
The Flying Dutchmen bounced back from a 4-1 loss to the 10th-ranked Knights on Friday at Eagles Ice Center in Grand Rapids with a 5-2 victory on Saturday at Griff's IceHouse West.
Hope is now 10-2 on the season and 3-1 in GL6 play.
On Saturday, five different Flying Dutchmen scored, including junior right wing
Brady Breit (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) and freshman center
Logan Nickolaus (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center / Wisconsin Windigo NAHL), who staked Hope to a 2-0 first-period lead.
The Flying Dutchmen never trailed, sealing the game with three power-play goals.

Trevor Davis (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) and freshman right wing
Gerdas Paulauskas (Lisle, Illinois / Acellus Academy / Toledo Cherokee USPHL Premier) capitalized with the man advantage during the second period.
Sophomore center
Ryan Jaros (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central / Battle Creek Kernels USPHL Premier) sealed the victory by scoring on the power play 7½ minutes into the third period.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Sebastian Wigfield (Blue Hill, Maine / Saint Ignatius College Prep / Battle Creek Kernels USPHL Premier) stopped 48 Calvin shots.
On Friday, Breit scored the Flying Dutchmen's lone goal against the Knights (5-2).
Hope's next ACHA series is this weekend against Oakland University, with games on Friday, Nov. 7, at 8:55 p.m. at Suburban Ice Rochester in Rochester, Michigan, and on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West.
