The Hope College men's basketball team aims to contend for an MIAA championship this season after placing third in the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Flying Dutchmen received one first-place vote and totaled 18 points, trailing first-place Calvin University (7 points, 7 first-place votes) and second-place Trine University (16 points). Coaches could not vote for their own teams.
Hope finished ahead of fourth-place Olivet (23 points), Albion College (31), Adrian College and Kalamazoo College (40 points each), and Alma College (49).
Led by head coach
Greg Mitchell, the Flying Dutchmen open the season on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at Anderson University in Indiana.
Hope returns two All-MIAA Second Team selections: senior guard
Marcus Wourman (Lansing, Michigan / East Lansing) and junior forward
Parker Hovey (Hart, Michigan / Hart).
Both averaged double figures in scoring last season — Wourman at 12.9 points per game and Hovey at 11.7.
