Nick McCreery Nets Career-High Four Goals in Loss at Colorado College

Midfielder Nick McCreery scored a career-high four goals for the Hope College men's lacrosse team during a 13-9 loss at Colorado College on Monday.

The senior from Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) leads the Flying Dutchmen with six goals this season.

The Flying Dutchmen dropped to 0-2 on the season after the non-league loss.

Colorado (2-0) took control of the game by scoring the first five goals.

McCreery's unassisted goal with 55 seconds remaining in the first period stopped the Tigers' early surge.

Hope struck three more times to pull within a goal with 1:16 remaining in the half. McCreery set up senior attacker Sam Bowen (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Eastern) to cut the deficit to 5-4. Bowen finished with two goals and one assist.

Colorado's Andrew Tan answered with one second remaining in the half. The Flying Dutchmen never pulled as close as a goal.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. vs. Elmhurst University (Illinois) in the home opener at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
