Women's Indoor Track and Field Posts Two Top-3 Runs at GVSU

The Hope College women's indoor track and field team recorded two Top-3 and five Top-1o performances on Saturday at the Grand Valley State University Mike Lints Alumni Open.

Seniors Isabella Brady and Catherine Leahy topped the Flying Dutch during the non-scoring meet.

In the 5,000 meters, Brady (Zionsville, Indiana / Zionsville HS) clocked a third-place run of 20 minutes, 43.16 seconds.

In the 400 meters, Leahy (Elk Rapids, Michigan / Elk Rapids) posted a third-place time of 58.52 seconds. Junior Frances Cozzens (Lyman, New Hampshire/Saint Johnsbury Academy) was ninth at 1:00.70.

In the 200 meters, Leahy finished sixth at 26.35.

In the shot put, senior Greta Robrahn (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland East) took ninth with a toss of 11.90 meters (39-0 ½).

In the 800 meters, sophomore Amanda Markham (Hoffman Estates, Illinois / William Fremd) placed 13th with a run of 2:2085. Freshman Maddie VandeBunte (Jenison, Michigan / Jenison) was 17th at 2:25.63.

In the 3,000 meters, freshman Tessa Rindfliesch (Zeeland, Michigan / West Ottawa) recorded a 13th-place time of 11:33.34.

In the 1-mile run, VandeBunte finished 14th at 5:17.28. Senior Maddy Struck (Hainesville, Illinois / Grayslake Central) was 15th at 5:18.49.

In the 60-meter hurdles, junior Ava Schmidt (Saline, Michigan / Saline) posted a 16th-place time of 8.20.

Hope next competes on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at the GVSU Big Meet.
