Women's Golf Tops Calvin in Match Play in Megan Radaz's First Round as Head Coach

Hope faced Calvin in a Ryder Cup-style, two-player team format on Saturday

The Hope College women's golf team hit the links for the first time this spring on Saturday and carded the first rivalry victory for new head coach Megan Radaz '22.

Playing in a Ryder Cup-style, two-player team challenge, the Flying Dutch shot four totals between 77 and 84 at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck to top the Knights, 326-332.

Radaz was hired as head coach in December after Greg Stafford retired following the 2024 fall season.

Senior Jordan Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle HS) and sophomore Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) teamed up for the lowest total of the day at 77.

Junior Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) and sophomore Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) chipped in an 82 for Hope.

Senior Sarah Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte) and junior Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) finished with an 83.

Sophomores Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) and Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) shot an 84.

The Knights received scores of 73 from Brooke Haney and Kayla Adkins, 77 from Andrea Diemer and Gina Sonday, 81 from Chandler Sjoerdsma and Grace Elfring, and 99 from Preslie Riggs and Samanta Davidson.

Hope next tees off on Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, at the Polar Beaver Invitational at Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio, and Hidden Creek Golf Course in Lima, Ohio. Ohio Northern University and Bluffton College (Ohio) are co-hosting the 36-hole event.
