Women's Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Spring Invitational

Sophomore Jaiden Winters tied for third place to lead the Hope College women's golf team this weekend to a runner-up finish at its own Spring Invitational.

Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle HS) carded rounds at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck of 85 on Friday and 82 on Saturday to finish at 23-over and nine shots off the lead.

Calvin University's Chandler Sjoerdsma claimed medalist honors at 14-over (78-80) and led the Knights to a winning total of 669 (334-335) at the five-team event.

Hope placed six strokes off the lead (339-336). The Flying Dutch finished 37 shots ahead of third-place Alma College (360-352). Aquinas College took fourth (375-350). Hope's B team was fifth (394-376).

Sophomore Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) posted a fifth-place total of 24-over (87-81) for Hope.

Senior Sarah Owens (Charlotte, Michigan / Charlotte) tied for sixth at 28-over (85-87).

Junior Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) tied for eighth at 29-over (82-91).

Sophomore Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) tied for 10th at 31-over (89-86).

Hope returns to the course on Friday-Saturday, April 21-22, at the MIAA Spring Finale on Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.
