Baseball Battles Before Falling at Kalamazoo

Box Score Playing for the third time in four days, the Hope College baseball team battled at Kalamazoo College before falling, 18-12, on Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Elliott Peter (Zionsville, Indiana / Zionsville HS) led a 14-hit Flying Dutchmen attack by going 4-for-4 with four RBIs, including an RBI triple.

Freshman Colton Kinnie (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Birmingham Seaholm) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Senior Al Money (Midland, Michigan / Midland) finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI.

Junior Jace DeMann (Byron Center, Michigan / South Christian) also collected two hits for the Flying Dutchmen (8-21, 3-8 MIAA).

Kalamazoo (17-10, 5-6 MIAA) rallied after trailing 4-0 after the top of the second inning by scoring at least two runs in every inning except the sixth.

The Hornets collected 15 hits and six walks against five Hope pitchers.

Today's home game vs. Grace Christian University was canceled. The Flying Dutchmen's next game is Wednesday, April 16, at 4 p.m. at home vs. Kalamazoo at Boeve Baseball Stadium.
