The Hope College women's lacrosse team put together its best offensive showing of the season Tuesday, scoring a season-high 18 goals in defeating Kalamazoo College 18-8 at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Flying Dutch, now 2-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play and 6-4 overall, won their 19
th straight MIAA regular season game. The Hornets fell to 1-2 in the conference and 2-10 overall.
Hope dominated play from the outset, scoring eight consecutive goals to start the game and holding Kalamazoo scoreless until the third minute of the second quarter. The Flying Dutch led 14-2 at the half and took their biggest lead at 17-4 late in the third quarter.

Sydney LaPrairie (Rochester, Michigan/Stoney Creek) had a career-best performance for Hope, scoring four goals in the first half, while sophomore midfielder
Stella Bottum (Alto, Michigan/Caledonia) tied a career high with four goals.

Kerrigan Brown (DeWitt, Michigan/DeWitt) added two goals and three assists for a five-point day. Junior attacker

Juli Kirkpatrick (Granger, Indiana/Mishawaka Penn) chipped in two goals apiece.
The Flying Dutch outshot the Hornets 32-17.

Samantha Smith (Westfield, Indiana/Westfield) made three saves during the first three quarters for Hope, and freshman goalkeeper
Abigail Sienkiewicz (Garden City, Michigan/St. Catherine of Siena Academy) turned away three Kalamazoo shots during the final quarter.
Hope will host nationally-ranked University of Chicago Friday, April 11, at 6 p.m. in a nonconference game at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
