Cross Country's Logan Begeman and Women's Soccer's Adelyn Raad Earn MIAA Weekly Honors

Two Hope College sophomores have been named MIAA Athletes of the Week: Logan Begeman in men's cross country and Adelyn Raad in women's soccer

Both are receiving their accolades for the first time.

Begeman (Portage, Michigan / Portage Central HS) opened the 2025 campaign at the Eye Opener X-C Meet hosted by the University of South Carolina Upstate at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C., site of this season's NCAA Division III Championships.

Begeman led the Flying Dutchmen to a top Division III team finish of third place, placing behind Division I powerhouses Furman and Clemson.

He was also the top Division III finisher, trailing only NCAA Division I runners from Clemson and Furman while clocking an 8K personal-best time of 25 minutes, 6 seconds in hot and humid conditions.

Raad (Jenison, Michigan / Hudsonville) helped the Flying Dutch post back-to-back shutouts to begin a season for the first time since 2001.

The elementary education major and defender played a key role in 3-0 victories against Milwaukee School of Engineering and Wartburg College (Iowa) by shutting down both opponents' attacks and scoring a goal against Wartburg.
