No. 14 Ranked Men's Hockey Sweeps Western Michigan

The Hope College men's hockey team reined in the Western Michigan University Stallions in ACHA Division I play over the weekend, skating to a 7-2 victory on home ice Friday and an 11-3 win on the road Saturday.

The 14th-ranked Flying Dutchmen improved to 19-6 overall.

On Friday, junior right wing Brady Breit (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) led a balanced attack with two goals, including the game-winner during a six-goal second period that erased a 2-0 WMU lead after 20 minutes.

Senior Jake Onstott (Zeeland, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central / Shreveport Mudbugs, NAHL) added one goal and two assists.

On Saturday, Onstott erupted for four goals and one assist, including the first goal in another six-goal second period.

Junior Trevor Davis (Byron Center, Michigan / Byron Center) contributed four assists.

Hope returns to the ice this weekend with a two-game series against Aquinas College. The Flying Dutchmen host the opener Friday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West, then skate Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. at Southside Ice Arena in Byron Center.
