Hope College midfielder Jessica Reyes has been named the 2026 MIAA Women's Soccer Newcomer of the Year after an impressive debut season in which the freshman quickly established herself as a key contributor.

Reyes (Rochester Hills, Michigan / Oakland Christian) is Hope's second recipient of the award, joining current teammate Mia Hesley, who claimed the recognition in 2024.

An immediate playmaking presence, Reyes returned from an injury that sidelined her last season to lead the conference with six assists during league competition while adding one goal for eight total points. Reyes recorded 11 shots, including seven on goal, and appeared in all eight MIAA matches, logging 537 minutes of action.

Reyes helped guide the Flying Dutch to a 7-0-1 conference record and an 11-3-2 overall mark, earning a share of the MIAA regular-season championship alongside Calvin University and securing the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Tournament.

Her ability to create scoring opportunities and contribute to Hope's offensive success was instrumental in the Flying Dutch's unbeaten conference campaign. Reyes' strong first season earned her a place among the league's top performers and established her as a promising talent for Hope's future.
