The race for the 2025-26 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup continues to take shape and, at the winter checkpoint, Hope College remains firmly in control.
The winter update —an unofficial snapshot of the standings— reflects results from four men's and three women's sports and offers an early look at how the league's all-sports race is unfolding. The Commissioner's Cup recognizes cumulative performance across the MIAA's 23 varsity sports, with each institution's top eight finishes per gender contributing to the final total.
Through the winter season, Hope has built a strong foundation, tallying 101 points to lead the field. The Flying Dutch and Flying Dutchmen have leaned on consistency and high-end finishes, recording six top-two placements across the sports they sponsor this winter. That run includes regular-season championships in both men's and women's swimming and diving, along with runner-up finishes in men's and women's basketball and men's and women's indoor track and field.
Calvin University sits in second place with 90 points. Trine University holds steady in third with 74.5 points. Albion College is in fourth (67.5 points) and followed by Alma College (55.5), Kalamazoo College (54.5), The University of Olivet (51.5), and Adrian College (48). Saint Mary's College, which competes in women's sports only, currently sits ninth with 14.5 points.
