Three Women's Swimmers, One Diver Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team

Four standouts on the MIAA champion Hope College women's swimming and diving team have been selected to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators: senior swimmers Greta Gidley and Laurel Wasiniak, junior diver Laura Zupancic, and sophomore swimmer Emme D'Errico.

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's swimming & diving Academic All-District honorees for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on April 29.

To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, carry a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale), and must compete in 75 percent of competitions, finish top-eight at a conference meet, or participate in a national championship.

Gidley swam to her first national title in the 200-yard individual medley at the NCAA Championships and captured five All-America accolades. The elementary education major from Franklin, Mich. (Mercy), also claimed MIAA Most Valuable Women's Swimmer honors for the second time in three years after recording six gold-medal performances at the MIAA Championship, including an MIAA-record swim in the 100 breaststroke.

Wasiniak swam on Hope's national runner-up 200 and 400 freestyle relays en route to five All-America performances at the NCAA Championships. The chemical engineering major from Northville, Mich. (Northville),  won five gold medals at the MIAA Championships, including individual titles in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

D'Errico, a psychology major from Farmington Hills, Michigan (Farmington), earned All-America accolades in the 400 medley relay at the NCAA Championships and won two gold medals at the MIAA Championships, including an MIAA-record swim in the 200 butterfly.

Zupancic, an exercise major from Fort Collins, Colorado (Liberty Common), competed on the 1- and 3-meter boards at the NCAA Championships and earned All-MIAA distinction.

The Flying Dutch also finished ninth at the NCAA Championships as a team, marking their third Top 10 finish in four years.

The Division III CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment for the 2025-26 program.
