The 14th-ranked Hope College women's cross country team soared at the season-opening Comet Open hosted by The University of Olivet on Tuesday.
The Flying Dutch sprinted away with eight of the top 10 times during the non-scoring meet at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte.
Freshman Lillian Cate of Carmel, Indiana (Carmel) topped the Orange and Blue by posting a runner- up, 5K effort of 19 minutes, 14.73 seconds.
Senior Katie Fischer of Adrian, Michigan (Adrian) clocked a fourth-place time of 19:27.27.
Sophomore Chloe Caulfield of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan (Grosse Pointe South) recorded a fifth-place run of 19.39.63.
Freshman Ruth Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana (Herron) placed sixth at 19:40.60.
Junior Erin Stuk of Pinckney, Michigan (Father Gabriel Richard) clocked a seventh-place effort of 19:41.26.
Freshman Emily Agnew of DeWitt, Michigan (DeWitt) took eighth at 19:47.60.
