The Hope men's cross country team placed third at the nine-team Muskegon Community College Jayhawk Jayhawk Invitational on Friday.
The Flying Dutchmen totaled 92 points. NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University won with 27 points, while Lansing Community College was runner-up with 52 points.
Junior Tim Simon of Richland (Gull Lake HS) led Hope with a 21st place run of 27 minutes, 1.41 seconds.
The Flying Dutchmen also received points from sophomore Kyle Anderson of Shorewood, Minn. (Minnetonka HS) in 27th at 27:11.29, sophomore Noah Litwiller of Delvan, Ill. (Olympia HS) in 28th at 27:12.58, freshman Julian Morrison of Aurora, Ill. (Waubonsie Valley HS) in 32nd at 27:19.62 and senior Tom Smeltzer of Frankfort (Benzie Central HS) in 37th at 27:34.88.
